Personal SUB-PRIME crisis
Was surprised that a certain friend was living off "credit".... spending more than he can afford.
"Credit" can be a double edged sword... it can cuts you both ways.
Sub-prime crisis arises to the fact that bank lax in giving credit & pple abusing the credit, when times are good.... everything is rosy.. when hard times hit you... things will start to fall apart.
Was wondering how many pple out are doing that.. living off credit..?
Be certain that the after effect hasn't full blown yet.. more is yet to come.......
If you are those living off credit... better start rethinking your life
Slacking
Dun care Run Run Run...........
The battle continues..... between MIND vs BODY...........

An American Dream 2
I beg your pardon, mama, what did you say?
My mind was drifting off on Martinique Bay
It's not that I'm not interested, you see Augusta,
Georgia is just no place to be
I think Jamaican in the moonlight
Sandy beaches drinking rum every night
We got no money, mama, but we can go
We'll split the difference, go to Coconut Grove
Keep on talking, mama,
I can hear Your voice,
it tickles down inside of my ear
I feel a tropical vacation this year
Might be the answer to this hillbilly fear
I think Jamaican in the moonlight
Sandy beaches, drinking rum every night
We got no money, mama, but we can go
We'll split the difference, go to Coconut Grove
Voila, an American dream
Well, we can travel, girl, without any means
When it's as easy as closing your eyes
And dream Jamaica is that big neon sign
Just keep talking, mama, I like that sound
It goes so easy with that rain falling down
I think a tropical vacation this year
Might be the answer to this hillbilly fear
Voila, an American dream
Yeah, we can travel, girl, without any means
When it's as easy as closing your eyes
And dream Jamaica is that big neon sign
Just think Jamaican in the moonlight
Sandy beaches, drinking rum every night
We got no money, mama, but we can go
We'll split the difference, go to Coconut Grove
An American Dream
Hear this over the radio Gold 90.5 while travelling in a cab.... since then this song been ringing in my ears.
Damn I getting old, started to appreciate these country songs..... Damn

WALL STREET MADE SIMPLE
This is an old story but worth repeating as history repeats itself.
If you have difficulty understanding the current world financial situation,
the following should help ...
Once upon a time in a village in India, a man announced to the villagers
that he would buy monkeys for $10..
The villagers seeing there were many monkeys around, went out to the
forest and started catching them.
The man bought thousands at $10, but, as the supply started to diminish,
the villagers stopped their efforts. The man further announced that he would now buy at $20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.
Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer rate increased to $25 and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it !
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 !
However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant
would now act as buyer, on his behalf.
In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers :
' Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected.
I will sell them to you at $35 and when he returns from the city, you can sell them back to him for $50. '
The villagers squeezed together their savings and bought all the monkeys.
Then they never saw the man or his assistant again, only monkeys everywhere !
Welcome to WALL STREET.

::Death of An Old Friend::
An obituary printed in the London Times ... interesting but true:
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion, his daughter, Responsibility, his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame, I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Do U Have Running Etiquette?
People was voicing out their fustrations of being blocked by slower runners, thus making diffcult for them to run fast and achieve their PB. There lots of talk of starting in the wrong pen... People just refusing to let you past... People running in zig-zag rather than in the straight line.. For one I ran 80% of the ECP route on the side grass so that I dun have to cut through people.
I guess its still a long long way for Singaporeans to reach the level of running etiquette as in overseas races. Until we reach there, I guess its best the enjoy & soak into the atomsphere of running rather than complaining... for thats what running is all about. To me running is for enjoyment, to enjoy the experience to race & the scenery that the race can offer to you.... PB is a bonus...

What My Name Means... How True????
What Lim Ming Kiat Terence Means |
You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow. You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily. Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is. You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated. You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want. You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way! You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. You are deeply philosophical and thoughtful. You tend to analyze every aspect of your life. You are intuitive, brilliant, and quite introverted. You value your time alone. Often times, you are grumpy with other people. You don't appreciate them trying to interfere in your affairs. You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life. You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip. People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble. You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind. A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable. |

(Keep an Even Pace
One of the keys to achieving your best marathon time is to keep an even pace throughout the race. Go out too fast and you'll hit the wall, go out too slow and you won't be able to make up the time later (but you may feel more rested at the end). Determine the pace that you believe you can honestly achieve and stick to it.
Use these wristbands to guide you through those miles (or kilometers) when your mind can't do the math anymore (or you want to save your concentration for your race). Of course you may need to modify these numbers to take account of the local terrain - but these pace bands will help you along.
The pace band will be displayed in PDF format, and can easily be printed. If you don't have it, you'll need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Your personalize pace wristband will include split times for every mile or for every five kilometers, and includes the half marathon time.)

Started off slow, was see that my fitness level has dropped... was struggling to maintain my pace at the first 3km. Manage to pick up the after passing the three humps... feeling good I quicken my pace & complete the run with no issue.... jus tat my ITB feels sore during the late afternoon... time for more rolling, btw i found out that tennis balls works better than foam rollers... but the pain is twice of much... SWEET SWEET PAIN....

My Review on Nike+ Sportsband
Time: 2145hrs
Distance calculated on runningahead.com : 6.63km
Pace calculated on runningahead.com : 5.53/km
Distance measure on Nike+ Sportsband : 7.19km
Pace measure on Nike+ Sportsband : 5.25/km
Results: 8% difference wo any calibration.
Using Switcheasy to attached sensor to shoes. At least three rows of laces were attached to the unit.
By the press of the button, was able to make connection to the sensor. Started using my normal pace. As the sensor was secure with three rows of laces, I dun really feel anything on the feet.
Only issue is that, there is no backlight so running at night, will pose a problem in monitoring your runs..... As I was wearing my own sport watch so, timing on the sportsband wasn't much of a issue.
Ended the run wo any issue, just by a press of a button. Only issue left is uploading the data via Singnet.... hear that the Nike team is still resolving with Singnet on this issue.
Apart form this. Costing $99.90 for the sports band. $16.50 for the switcheasy unit. Its a steal if you compare with brand like polar, suuto & garmin.
Though not a perfect measuring gadget, it works for me & for my traning......
